My Favorite Drugstore Makeup Products (With Links!)
Sometimes, I hate seeing all of these fancy people with their overflowing makeup collections from Sephora. Because quite frankly, I get all of my makeup from CVS (I do go in Sephora once a year on my birthday to get free stuff though...). Even though I don't have the fanciest brands, drugstore makeup definitely gets a worse reputation than it should. With that being said, while looking at my makeup to write this, I have basically one brand for everything... so either Maybelline has really good products or someone needs to recommend me some new ones.
My Favorite Makeup Products
- Maybelline Lash Sensational Washable Mascara - aka, the holy grail of mascaras. I love this mascara because you can get almost any look you want from it (natural, clumpy, or thick). I have yet to meet a person that doesn't love this product.
- Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Eraser Dark Circles Treatment Concealer, Brightener - I have never tried a stick for any of my makeup products, so I wasn't expecting to like this one. But, I was proved wrong. Most days when I don't feel like putting on a lot of makeup, I slap some concealer on, put some setting powder (number 4) over it, and put on mascara (number 1). I definitely recommend this concealer.
- Maybelline Baby Skin Instant Pore Eraser Primer - I do not wear primer often because I am not someone who really needs it. But if you do, this one works wonders. It makes my skin look super smooth and it's very lightweight.
- Maybelline Shine Free Oil Control Loose Powder - When I was on the hunt for a setting powder, I actually only picked this one up because it was the only one I could find. Luckily, I once again wasn't disappointed (I'm sure you can see a pattern here.
- Maybelline Superstay24 Color Lip Color - I went through a lipstick phase where it was part of my daily routine. My problem was, it would always fall off halfway through the day. Since I was at school, I didn't bring it with me to redo. This lipstick actually stays on all day, and kept my lips moisturized. The way it works is you put the lip color on and wait for it to dry or at least get tacky. Then, on the other end, there is a lip balm that you put over it to keep your lip moisturized as well as make sure the product stays on.
- Maybelline Facestudio Master Bronze Kit - One downfall I've noticed with drugstore products is that if you get multiple products in a set, not all of them are going to work. That is what happened with this product. While it included a contour, highlight, blush, and bronzer, I only liked the highlighter. With that being said, you're probably wondering how this product ended up on my list. That is because despite the downfall of the other products, this highlighter is amazing and will make you 'glow to the gods'.
- Maybelline Dream Fresh BB Cream 8-in-1 Skin Perfecter - I got my fist BB Cream for Christmas and luckily, it was this one. This is another product that will cut down the time it takes to do your makeup routine because it has so much to offer.
- Beauty 360 Extreme Curl Eyelash Curler - This pink curler has been with me since the beginning. And while I don't really think there is any difference between different eyelash curlers, my lashes have yet to come off. Thus, putting it on this list.
- L'Oreal Paris Colour Riche La Palette - With this eyeshadow palette, you get a lot of product for your money. While the colors blend really easily, my only complaint is that the colors are not very pigmented.
BONUS - My Favorite Skin Care Products
Now I'm not going to apologize for my skin care being the same brand because, as you can expect, using the same brand of skin care on your face makes the products work better together.
- Neutrogena Night Calming Makeup Remover Cleansing Towelettes - Not only are these wonderful for removing makeup, I am in love with the smell. Honestly they are calming for any point in the day.
- Neutrogena Oil Free Moisturizer - This moisturizer not only moisturizes, but also sinks into the skin and keeps your skin from getting oily.
- Neutrogena Alcohol Free Toner - This toner does what a toner should do. It does not dry out your skin, but gives it a matte finish.
- Neutrogena Oil Free Acne Wash Cream Cleanser - I use this probably twice a week in the shower and it really helps with breakouts.
- Vaseline Lip Therapy Aloe Vera Lip Balm Tin - This lip balm is so moisturizing and lasts for a very long time.
Always keep in mind that different products work differently for each persons skin type. So while these products might work for me, they might not work for you. With that being said, I am always looking for suggestions not only for makeup, but for blog posts too! I hope you find something useful in here to add to your routine.
